The Artisans of QALAA
We work with hereditary craftspeople and living masters across India. Every work comes with a story, a provenance, and a direct relationship.
A master of the Nathdwara Pichwai tradition, Sandeep Gomay paints devotional works in natural pigments, 24k gold and handmade paper. His art carries generations of temple craft from the town of Nathdwara, rendered with an exceptional fineness of line.
View WorksKalyan Joshi belongs to the hereditary Joshi family of Phad painters from Rajasthan, keepers of a centuries-old scroll-painting tradition. Working in natural pigments on handmade cotton canvas, he paints both the classical epics — Pabuji, the Ramayan, Krishna Leela — and inventive contemporary Phads alive with trains, aeroplanes and everyday life.
View WorksKulwinder Singh works in watercolour and acrylic, drawn to water, light and architecture — the ghats of Banaras, the Golden Temple at Amritsar, working dockyards, and cityscapes from Madrid to Kathmandu. His paintings balance loose, luminous washes with a draughtsman's eye for structure.

We Visit. We Commission. We Document.
QALAA's groundwork is built on direct relationships — we travel to villages, understand traditions, and build lasting partnerships with artists and their families. If you know an artist who should be on our platform, let us know.
